District of Creativity Network
13 regions around the world are part of this network in which it seeks to identify new ways of combining knowledge, technology and resources:
The Basque Country, through the Department of Culture and Language Policy, has joined the International Districts of Creativity (DC) Network.
This international forum brings together 13 regions from around the world, in which creativity and innovation are part of their priority agendas.
The network tries to bring together people from all over the world and from diverse domains to promote and use the power of creative thinking and to identify new ways of combining knowledge, technology and resources. The regions that belong to the International Districts of Creativity (DC) Network see the creative industries as one of the key sectors for the future.
- Among the activities of the International Districts of Creativity (DC) Network are, among others, the following:
- A World Creativity Forum that brings together 1,500 people to reflect on multidisciplinary innovation.
- Carrying out “Reverse Missions”: a member of the DC Network organizes a visit in the field of creativity, entrepreneurship and innovation in their own district, and the rest of the DC members through a research visit strengthen relationships with members of that district and discuss collaborative projects
- International workshops for students on creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship
