Director of the ISEAK foundation and professor of economics at the UPV/EHU.

She also belongs to the advisory council of the royal Elcano institute and the AMETIC forum for reflection, and is an associate researcher as IZA, a European benchmark for labour market research. Member of the board of directors of Iberdrola, where she chairs the sustainable development committee. She was president of the European Society for Population Economics (ESPE) in 2012 and chair of COSME, the committee for the study of women in economics in 2012 and 2013. She has worked on numerous projects with Spanish and Basque labour institutions, as well as with the European Commission on projects to activate unemployed people. She has published numerous academic papers on topics such as gender differences at work, immigration, poverty and the future of employment.
