Juan José Torres López

A graduate in Law (University of Barcelona, 1995), qualified in Financial Advice and Bank Management (Institut d’Estudis Financers, 2006), with a master's degree in Human Rights, Democracy and Globalisation, specialisation in Human Rights and Business (Catalan Open University, 2020), and currently preparing a doctorate in Law (Rovira i Virgili University).

Between 1988 and 2008 he worked at Caixa Catalunya with a range of roles and responsibilities. From 2011 to 2014 he was head of the assets department of the Catalunya Caixa group, where among other things he helped to develop the bank's social rental programme, and between 2014 and 2016 he was a member, as a lawyer and outside consultant, of the social committee of the group's property subsidiary, giving advice in the field of social housing.

From 2016 to June 2021 he was director general of CIRE, the centre for rehabilitation initiatives of the Department of Justice, and is currently director general of the public employment service of the Catalan government's business and work department.
